Deb Goldberg has been an effective state treasurer and should be returned to office on Nov. 6. Under her watch, the state Lottery, one of the most successful in the nation, has produced its best results, sending approximately $1 billion annually back to cities and towns over the last few fiscal years. She’s also trying to protect this state moneymaker by moving Lottery sales online, which the Legislature has yet to approve. The Brookline Democrat has promoted college savings and financial literacy in the schools. She also oversees the Massachusetts School Building Authority and the state Alcohol Beverage Control Commission. Goldberg’s job performance is highly proficient and we urge her re-election.
